Mary R. Strode, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died at home in Williamsburg, Virginia on June 10, 2017.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Tom Strode and their three children, Elizabeth Vaghari-Clark, Lee Strode and her husband, David Counter, and Thompson Strode and his wife, Sarah Bacci. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Toran Vaghari, David Vaghari, Mary Clark, Anna Strode, Sam Strode, and Ben Strode, as well as one great-grandchild, Remy Acosta. Mary was predeceased by her loving parents Woodrow and Alta Robinson.

She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Toran Vaghari, David Vaghari, Mary Clark, Anna Strode, Sam Strode, and Ben Strode, as well as one great-grandchild, Remy Acosta. Mary was predeceased by her loving parents Woodrow and Alta Robinson.
Mary graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA with a degree in General Studies. Mary has lived in Springfield, Virginia; Wilmington, Delaware; Midlothian, Virginia; St Ives, Australia; Aiken, South Carolina; and Williamsburg, Virginia. She had the opportunity and joy to travel the world with her best friend and husband, Tom Strode. Together they visited England, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Australia, Hawaii, Turkey, various parts of Asia and the United States. She was Treasurer and President of New Virginians. She is remembered by her family and friends as a dear friend, fierce defender of those she loves and cared for, and was one wicked card player to the end. She will be dearly missed.

A memorial service is planned at Nelsen Funeral Home at 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia at 1:00 PM on June 15, 2017.
