Joyce Ann Morris (nee Harrell) was born November 9, 1946 at MCV to Calvin and Edna Harrell. She passed away on April 2, 2015. Joyce graduated from Stony Creek High School in 1965. In 1967, she received an Associate's of Arts from Bluefield College, where she made many lifelong friends. In 1968, she married William H. Morris (also known as Bill or Billy). Joyce Ann Morris (nee Harrell) was born November 9, 1946 at MCV to Calvin and Edna Harrell. She passed away on April 2, 2015. Joyce graduated from Stony Creek High School in 1965. In 1967, she received an Associate's of Arts from Bluefield College, where she made many lifelong friends. In 1968, she married William H. Morris (also known as Bill or Billy). In 1969, they both received Bachelor's degrees from William and Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Warren, and her brother-in-law Wamer Mayes. In addition to her loving and devoted husband Bill of Williamsburg, she is survived by daughters Tanya Morris of Rock Hill, SC, and Terri Morris of Sterling, VA, her beloved grandsons, William Morris Stowe and Charles Lee Stowe (Tanya's sons), and her son-in-law Jacob Stowe of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Harrell (widow of Warren), their daughter Shelia Vick, and son Jeffrey; her sister Nita Wright, husband Johnny, their son Jerry, son Jamie, and daughter Jennifer Siegrist; her brother Mike, wife Pam, their daughter Abbey Webb, and son Tommy. She will also be missed by extended family members, cousins, aunts, and uncles, and many friends. Joyce is also survived by her sister-in-law Kathleen Mayes (widow of Wamer), her sons, Wamer, Jr., Fred, and Andy. During her career, Joyce worked at Newport News, Hampton, and James City County (JCC) Social Services, as well as Colonial Community Corrections for JCC. She investigated child abuse and neglect. She also recruited, trained, and monitored foster care parents. At CCC, Joyce supervised adults on probation, and arranged services for them. Joyce was a longtime member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church. She was most recently a member of Wellspring UMC. She loved her church family.
