Edward A. "Ted" Brennan, age 87, died at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center on September 12, 2017.

Born in Waterbury, CT, Ted grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where he became a lifelong, devoted fan of the NY Yankees and a season ticket holder for the NY Giants since 1956. He later married and lived in Morristown, NJ, and Alexandria, VA. For 30 years, he worked for the Department of Defense and retired as a Computer Systems Auditor.

He moved to the Kingsmill section of Williamsburg in 1988 where he enjoyed many friends a few of whom were not fans of NY sports teams.

Ted was a proud United States Marine. He served from 1946 thru 1948. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Marine Corps Association and Foundation, and Saint Bede Catholic Church.

Two daughters, Margaret Caplan of NYC and Beth Callahan of Durham, NC, and a son, Tom Brennan of Cherry Hill, NJ, survive him. He has four beloved grandchildren; Matthew Ian, Michael Dorsey, John Patrick Callahan, and Katherine Anne Brennan. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Arthur Caplan of NYC.

Mr. Brennan was the son of Edward Ambrose and Mary Carey Brennan and the brother of Marie Assante Sammons.

Ted was an avid golfer and for many years a member of the Kingsmill Resort and Club. In 1998, he became a member of the hole-in-one club. In addition to sports, he especially enjoyed reading, Sudoku puzzles, cooking, conversation, travel and being active in community affairs.

A funeral mass will be held at Saint Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188, on Friday, September 22 at 11AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Marine Corps Association and Foundation, Building 715, Broadway Street, Quantico, VA, 22134.
